CPD benefits to students
NSW committee member Ed Knust advises students on the benefits of professional development. CIMA professional development (CPD) is a mandatory requirement for CIMA members.
CPD is essential for any accounting professional to keep existing skills up to date, and continually further education.
It is important that students consider their own CPD, both before and after attaining their CIMA membership.
The key benefits of CPD include:
- maintaining professional competence
- opportunity to develop skills and capabilities for current and future roles
- maintaining integrity of the qualification.
Branch CPD events are structured to be as useful for students as they are for members. Throughout the year, the CPD programme aims to cover both technical management accounting topics, as well as topics of broader interest which would be relevant to accounting professionals.
Why not take the opportunity to attend your next branch CPD event (see our events page) and meet some of your fellow CIMA students and members?
